Beaten,
Broken,
Ridiculed,
Condemned.

Led like a lamb to the slaughter–

You offered no defense

but let the sentence fall.

You stood in the place where

I should have stood.

You took my punishment on yourself.

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
