We pray for the peace of Christ to reign in these times:
Come, Lord Jesus, bring your peace to the earth.
We are:
War-torn and anxious,
terror stricken and stressed,
we have had our share of the world’s peace–
that tenuous cessation of conflict though struggle
and suffering remain.
Come, Lord Jesus, bring your peace to the earth.
We cry how long? as we live towards your Kingdom.
We want no more Pax Romano but Pax Christi–Peace of Christ—
the peace which passes understanding,
the peace you leave,
the peace you gave to us,
the peace you are bringing as You come to reign in glory.
Come, Lord Jesus, bring your peace to the earth–
wholeness and shalom,
all as it should be and
nothing that should be
left out.
